By accessing or using the Website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these Terms of Use, please do not access or use the Website.

1. Permitted Use of the Website

The Website is provided to share information about Harry Southerland, his candidacy for Hoke County Commissioner, his background, priorities, campaign activities, public appearances, volunteer opportunities, endorsements, and other campaign-related matters.

You may use the Website only for lawful, personal, and noncommercial purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms of Use. You may view, download, or print limited portions of the Website for your personal informational use, provided that you do not remove or alter any copyright, trademark, attribution, disclaimer, or other proprietary notice.

Permission to use the Website does not grant you ownership of any Website content or permission to reproduce, distribute, publish, modify, sell, license, publicly display, or otherwise exploit that content except as expressly authorized in writing by the Campaign.

2. Ownership of Campaign Content

Unless otherwise stated, all content appearing on the Website—including photographs, videos, recordings, graphics, campaign logos, designs, slogans, written material, articles, biographies, policy statements, downloadable materials, and the selection and arrangement of that content—is owned by, licensed to, or used with permission by the Campaign and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.

The names, logos, slogans, and other identifying marks of the Campaign may not be used in a way that falsely suggests sponsorship, authorization, endorsement, affiliation, or approval by Harry Southerland or the Campaign.

Content belonging to third parties remains the property of its respective owner and is used subject to any applicable license or permission.

3. Restrictions Against Copying or Misusing Content

Except as expressly permitted by these Terms of Use or authorized in writing by the Campaign, you may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, distribute, sell, license, or commercially exploit Website content;
  • Modify, edit, alter, crop, manipulate, or create derivative works from campaign photographs, videos, logos, graphics, or written material;
  • Use Website content in a misleading, defamatory, deceptive, or unlawful manner;
  • Use campaign materials to imply an endorsement, partnership, sponsorship, or affiliation that does not exist;
  • Remove or obscure copyright, trademark, attribution, disclaimer, or other proprietary notices;
  • Frame, mirror, scrape, harvest, or systematically extract Website content without prior written permission; or
  • Use any photograph, video, quotation, logo, or written material in advertising, fundraising, merchandise, or another political communication without written authorization.

Requests for permission to use campaign content should be directed to the Campaign using the contact information provided below.

4. Accuracy and Availability of Information

The Campaign makes reasonable efforts to provide accurate, useful, and timely information; however, campaign schedules, event details, public statements, endorsements, policy positions, volunteer opportunities, and other content may change without notice. The Campaign does not guarantee that all information on the Website will always be complete, current, accurate, or free from typographical or technical errors.

The Campaign may revise, correct, remove, suspend, or discontinue any portion of the Website at any time and without notice. Access to the Website may occasionally be interrupted because of maintenance, technical problems, security concerns, service-provider failures, or circumstances beyond the Campaign’s control.

5. Links to Outside Websites

The Website may contain links to social-media platforms, news organizations, government agencies, event-registration services, donation processors, and other third-party websites or services. These links are provided for convenience and informational purposes only.

The Campaign does not control and is not responsible for the content, availability, security, accuracy, accessibility, or privacy practices of third-party websites. The inclusion of a link does not necessarily constitute an endorsement of the third party or its products, services, opinions, or content. Your use of an outside website is governed by that website’s own terms and policies, and you access third-party websites at your own risk.

6. User-Submitted Comments, Messages, and Materials

The Website may allow visitors to submit comments, questions, messages, volunteer information, event responses, testimonials, photographs, videos, or other material. You are responsible for the content you submit and represent that you have the legal right to provide it.

You may not submit material that is unlawful, threatening, harassing, defamatory, obscene, fraudulent, discriminatory, invasive of another person’s privacy, infringing of intellectual-property rights, or otherwise harmful. You may not impersonate another person, misrepresent your identity, or knowingly submit false information.

Unless the Campaign expressly agrees otherwise in writing, submitting material does not create a confidential, fiduciary, employment, volunteer, or other special relationship between you and the Campaign. Do not submit confidential, sensitive, or legally privileged information through general Website forms.

By voluntarily submitting campaign-related content for publication or promotional use, you grant the Campaign a nonexclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, display, distribute, edit, and publish that content in connection with lawful campaign communications. This license does not apply to personal information submitted solely to request information, volunteer, register for an event, or communicate privately with the Campaign. The Campaign may review, reject, remove, or decline to publish user-submitted content at its discretion.

7. Prohibited Conduct

When using the Website, you may not:

  • Violate any applicable federal, state, or local law or regulation;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Website, its server, accounts, databases, or connected systems;
  • Introduce viruses, malicious code, automated attacks, or other harmful technology;
  • Interfere with the operation, security, performance, or availability of the Website;
  • Collect or harvest personal information about visitors, volunteers, supporters, donors, or campaign personnel;

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Website and all content, information, functions, and services made available through it are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.

The Campaign disclaims all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, noninfringement, accuracy, availability, and security. The Campaign does not warrant that the Website will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, free of viruses or other harmful components, or that defects will be corrected.

This limitation applies to claims based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other legal theory, even if the Campaign has been advised of the possibility of damages. Nothing in these Terms of Use excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

10. Right to Update These Terms

The Campaign may revise these Terms of Use at any time to reflect changes in the Website, campaign operations, applicable law, or other circumstances. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Unless otherwise stated, revised terms become effective when posted.
